WHY I TEACH @ ANIMAS HIGH SCHOOL
As an art teacher at Animas High School I have been given the professional freedom and respect to build an entire digital art curriculum based out of my creative, artistic passions and realizations about what my students need to be successful in a 21st Century global economy. This flexible teacher as designer environment at Animas High School continuously affords me the luxury to engage with my students everyday on the most authentic level possible. I get to inspire them to follow their own creative strengths while exploring new avenues of personal expression. Project based learning allows my students to advocate for more personalized, individualized instruction that leads to an overall highly impactful educational journey for all.

"Sto Lavorando"
A visiting prince came into Michelangelo's studio and found the master staring at a single eighteen-foot block of marble. Then he knew the rumors were true that Michelangelo had come in every day for the past four months, stared at the marble then gone home for his supper. So the prince asked the obvious, "What are you doing?" Michelangelo turned and whispered "I'm working." Three years later that block of marble was the statue of David.

Artistic visionaries Mark Mothersbaugh & Beatie Wolfe share a love of tangible art forms, in and amongst their futuristic explorations. The aim of Postcards for Democracy is to encourage as many people as possible to support USPS, our right to vote, and democracy as a whole via the power of art. PFD asks you to buy USPS stamps, design a postcard, and then mail it to 8760 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069. The postcards will become part of a collective art piece - presented in both a physical gallery and virtual space.
